Wanted to try a new fork for my Intense 5.5 (small) so i ordered a Pike 454
Dual Air.
It arrived bout one hour ago :)
Took some pictures of the beauty for you all to see.
Cant wait to put it on, so i can compare to the Frankenfork i had on before.
The weight off my Frankenfork is 2367gram with axle and 17.5cm steerer tube!
The claimed weight from Rock Shox is not true :-(
Pictures is taken with uncut steerer tube, and the last picture is taken without flash.

which model 454 is that?

Is that small hole in the bottom of the steerer tube threaded? I was interested because I run a THE fender on my current fork. The Pike doesn't look it would accept the star nut, so , unless that hole is threaded to put a screw up there to hold it on, I couldn't run it.

Funny thing is I just went from a ZAM1 (frankenfork) to the 454 Dual Air. I noticed a decrease in stiffness in the chasis vs the ZAM1. My Pike is taking its sweet time breaking in. So far I have about 20 hours on it on trail and it is just now starting to feel smooth. Damping feels really good. I like the fact that you can adjust the extension of the fork with the negative chamber in a range wider than the TAS on the ZAM1.

I am thinking about getting a Pike 454 for my Scirocco, how are you liking it? Could you post a pic of it on your bike? Also, you can adjust the travel via pressure change, or did I misunderstand what you were saying?

edit: Also, what color is that thing, I really like that color.

I'Ve ordered a 454 u-turn air...same color as yours. At this time she is installed on my Devinci Remix, replacing a TALAS RLC........but here it is minus 10 celcius it its snowing so i'll give it a try in the next days.

I anticipate some experimentations with the négative and positive air chamber, since the only air fork i've owned was Fox float ant TALAS......

peace on dirt

Nice fork......I'm considering one for my Ventana X-5. I think Fox forks are over priced. I'm glad SRAM has gotten RS's problems straight and we should see improvement in durability. Keep us posted on the Pike's setup and breakin

It got some serious competetion, because my other fork is a Frankenfork.
