Pictures from today's snowy and cold ride

I was 100% exhausted at the end of today's ride. After taking 2 weeks without touching a bike, and no intense riding in the recent past, I was in no shape to do back to back 2h+ group rides on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. But, I could not resist, and did it anyway.

Here's some pictures:

You guys are crazy. A bit too cold for me! The only reason I went outside today was to shovel the driveway. Twice.
You went out to shovel your driveway twice..and we're crazy. It was so beautiful on the trails. Cutting through a few cm of snow in the silence of the forest. I don't think I was cold once today.

I told you to come out, you missed a good one.

Both of my parents, and some random guy at Tim Horton's agree with you.

Oh, and I love snow blowers. :)
Good times! I went out 4 times over the xmas break and had a blast every ride.
Hey, i appreciate the outdoors just as much as anyone, but joyride150 is open, and for 25bucks you can ride + order Pizza + then ride again....make it an all day event.

Logs, PUMP tracks, skinnies, XC loop, its a good time!

CHEERS to y'all for given'r.......LC
That looks like a great group and a lot of fun!

joyride 150 is too far away from me to serve as a practical replacement for outdoor riding. If I'm lucky, I might get up there once this winter.
Is that Shorthills?

I know it ain't Dundas, we didn't get any snow yesterday. :(

Yup, Shorthills PP and surrounding area.

I went for an easy recovery ride at Iriquois heights today, and the conditions were very different than what I faced yesterday. Most of the singletrack was bare dirt. Quite the contrast.
Tried riding to joyride from the beaches yesterday. Failed, but it was still pretty epic.

where was the announcement about this ride? I would've gone with you guys.
Cheers, here's their website. You should be able to read it but you'll need to join the club to post.

Yup, the ride was posted on the SHCC forum. There are typically rides every weekend, trail conditions permitting, and even some rides on week days as well. Rides are typically in St. Catharines or sometimes Port Colbrne.
We ride year 'round every Sunday at 10am in St. Catharines. We'd be more then happy to have you come out on a ride, meet people and see what we're all about. They are member only rides but we don't mind you come once or twice to check it out.

Valiant attempt! I liked the vaguely guerrilla approach.

I'm curious; I personally don't cover my mouth or nose in cold weather since ice build-up usually ends up making my balaclava/bandanna/jersey wet and/or gross. What's the theory behind doing it? Does it ever work for anyone?
I wear a Sugoi skull cap when it's below 5oC, a Sugoi balaclava when it's below 0oC and add a headband/noseband when it's crazy cold out so only my eyes are uncovered. It's sort of a headband that goes around my face covering my nose and is Velcro in the back. It works great as long as I'm riding at a relaxed pace. If I was working hard then it interferes with my breathing and I have to take it off.
