I was scanning a bunch of photos last night and came across these in my big old box o' photos:

This was the first bike I built from scratch. I found the frame/fork in the trash on the side of the road back in 1980. I hand painted it and actually got the decals directly through Raleigh. It's a Raleigh Grand Prix from the early 1970s (I believe). I put thousands of miles on this bike and don't know what happened to it. Sometime during college, it disappeared. The bike I had been riding was a 1978 Huffy 12-speed with a Shimano rear disc brake, which was REALLY awesome for doing long skids...

This is my 1992 Wicked Fat Chance with a Rock Shox Mag 21 (I think). This is the only photo I have of this bike. One of my best friends and I did a hut-to-hut trip in Colorado around September of 1993 and this is somewhere between the Fowler-Hilliard hut and Vail.

This photo was taken in March of 1997, so I had my Rhygin for about a year. Many of the parts had been scavenged from my highly customized 1992 Bridgestone MB-2. This was taken in my apartment in Harvard Square, which I was was paying next to nothing...

Just curious but the headtube decal has 1/200 on it. Would that indicate they planned to make 200, but stop production at 183? very cool...
At first, they planned to make 150. Then they raised it to 200 but stopped production after 183 because there was no more demand.

I can't believe that it's Number 1 and never been built and yet it looks to have rust and grease on it. Yokris, what's the story with this frame?

Absolutely lovely!
Thanks Tony! Well...it was intended to be Wendyll's & Chris's bike! But they never built it up. The frame was too large for Wendyll and Chris rode number 4 of 200 which he built up with a complete Campa OR. Curious...Chris's 10th was used for a test from Mountain Bike Action in July '92.

so, that appears to be a ti bike from SP, and those two TypeII's have rollercam bossess, are they going on new bikes? or something vintage? either way, nice looking bits.

Here's the ti frame (sorry DC, this is the frame that got the last "Phoenix" decal). The black fork is going on this ti Phoenix and the celeste one is going on a late 80's Klein Pinnacle which is getting this custom stem too.

Are you raiding the ranch in Stowe for these goodies?
