The frame I have has a permanent kick stand built into it. Can i just take a hacksaw to it? the bracket part is all rusted and nasty, and I wouldn't mind getting rid of it...

keep the kickstand. it acts like flints and makes cool sparks at night.

if it'sthe old schwinn type,park tools has a tool to remove it. go to your lbs they should be able to remove it for you.

are you serious? a park tool for removing kick stand? i like one for my birthday...

he is indeed serious, it makes the nearly impossible job of removing the old schwinn style integrated/permanent kickstand a breeze. also handy for installing a new one, which believe me is a horrible experience without the proper tool.
