Performance has been a bit of an unknown quantity since their bankruptcy and the re-purchase of the company (which includes Nashbar) out of bankruptcy. From what I have read, it is owned again by the same owners who originally started the company, it being run into the ground by successor owners. I have ordered from them twice, both with quick fulfillment and delivery. On my second order, I unfortunately received a defective product (not their fault, well respected manufacture, not observable until installation). I reached out to them, on of all days, Christmas, which was when I was able to get it installed. They responded that day. After a couple of emails back and forth the issue is all fixed.

My theory is any company can ship products. What separates a good company from a bad one is how they deal with post-sale issues. So far, Performance gets a two thumbs up.

Were Nashbar and Performance always intertwined somehow? Used to have a Performance around (east coast) and also ordered from Nashbar online back in the day. When the pandemic hit and I both got back into biking more and ordered parts from several places due to availability I noticed then.

Either way, my experiences have been just fine with them just to add.

I ran a few orders through Nashbar over the holidays and they've been great so far. All my orders have shipped from Charlotte NC, which means I basically get my order in a day or two since I'm a state below. Previously the last time I ordered from Nashbar/Performance was back in 2014 - I want to say that at the time their prices were starting to creep up, plus it would take a couple weeks for my orders to arriv, so I basically stuck with Universal, BTD, and CC. But the new Nashbar/Performance looks and feels like they've upped their game (at least on the shipping end), so they're back in my go-to list.
