How do you keep snow/slush/ice from clogging up your pedals? I have Shimano SPDs, the kind with the bar in the center. Thanks!

If there's any snow/ice jammed in my cleat, I just give a couple of taps on the pedal and jam it in there. I can't remember the last time it took more effort than that to clear an SPD cleat/pedal. 100+ rides in the snow every year...

Maybe a little PAM on the bottom of your cleat before the ride. Works for a little while.

On snow I use flat pedals. Works also better to keep your feet warm. And you can react faster if things go wrong.

I have been spraying the pedals with w-d40 before a ride and resting my body against a tree when I need a rest instead of putting my foot down in the snow or water

Me too - flat pedals with hiking boots.

When I did use SPD's in the snow, like Pinkrobe said, banging the shoes (to the side) on something usually cleared the cleats enough to clip in.
