peace 9r.....possible to make it 1x8 or 1x9?

cant seem to get any info from GT.
does this have a horizontal dropout? can I add a derailler hanger for 1x9?
will the stock rear hub accept a cassette?

thank you for your help.
i would also be looking to buy a used 9r or 9r multi if you have one for sale. medium

If you're gonna try to have a 1x9 or 1x8 I would get a 9r multi. I think the the SS versions have an eccentric bottom bracket and unable to mount a derrailleur. I don't know about the most recent incarnations of the 9r but the older 08 and 09s were that way.

I do know it now has a horizontal dropout.

As long as you bought a multi it wouldn't be a problem. The single speed has no provisions for a derailluer.

Although the SS version would be good for an igh set up.

so you cannot just add a derailleur hanger?

my dilemma is that i would like to try a single speed since you guys seem to be having lots of fun,but truthfully i am probably going to need gears.

any ballpark figure on what it would cost to get an igh hub in a decent 29er rim,maybe tubeless?
