With snow riding, that relatively easy ride that takes an hour in the summer becomes a relatively hard 2 hour ride in the winter.
Well, that depends on conditions. I've done many rides when the snow was hard and smooth - no roots or rocks that the same trail offers in summer. The rides are actually shorter and easier in those conditions. We occasionally get conditions where you can ride anywhere in the woods, sort of like tree skiing.
