July

The month starts big with the nation's birthday and all. I kick the
weekend off with a little high-country recconnaissance nearly near
summit county.

Then we jets off to the Butte.

Enroute home a little Breck action was in order.

There were many rides on this particular trail this summer. And this remains my favorite
pic from those rides: "Opposition?"

Had such a grand time at CB over the 4th, I thought I'd hit it again, this time stopping to check out Monarch Crest first.

Good riding, and imbibing along the Flag tails.

There were also rides closer to home

August

August was all about a road trip out to Cali. Let's see, there were some explorations in Utah:

some grand driving across Nevada

a back-door sneak into Cali

riding the lifts with some bros at Mammoth

And some requisite east-side time

some tahoe area rides

and even met up with some NoCal goons and goonettes.

but all good things too soon end. Unwinding my route, Nevada was the first stop...

Naturally I took the road less travelled.

Some Utah back roads

Dipping a toe into Arizona

Recoiling to the shelter of the Zion Curtain

Finally the call of home drew me back across the ZC's eastern borderlands.

Descending into the Colorado lowlands I get my first hint of a change in the seasons...

September

Actually I had to make haste back from Cali to intercept some Tejanos.

Many thing spilled that weekend, but not among them was the beer.

More riding along the Crest, and campsite supremacy.

A week goes by and another Monarch trip was in order. This time an informal little gathering of MTBR locals. Our weekend had an auspicious beginning...

Dig on that buff high country singletrack

The riding was the best of the best.

the rides were specacular but mornings were, uh, frigid.

Having descended the west side of Monarch Crest, pushing on to CB seemed the obvious next stop.

Finally got around to riding Teocalli Ridge along which I played an exquisite game of pass the motos.

then there was my summer's second attempt on Pearl Pass, which was not to be.

These inklings of change were getting harder to ignore.

So I thought I'd try a final try at some high country, ...

but the snow had come and it too was not to be.

November

A quick weekend to Moab, meeting up with some Nuevo Mexico folks (one of whoms picture had been deleted for his recent snidery).

CTIL (colder than it looks)

Some more Springs action...

...and that was nearly the last time I've been on a bike.

December

Well, December has brought to Colorado something resembling winter. I've been focussing on other pursuits...

Those are all amazing photos. They really capture the moment, and the cold in that December photo with the snow wisping off the top of the mountain.

Awesome trips in there as well. The road trip photo of the river S-ing through the canyons is great.

Thanks for sharing part two!
