Go for the Barnett's manual.
I've got the Barnett's Manual (b'day gift) and the Zinn book (bought cheap). As great as the Barnett's manual is, the Zinn book has just enough easily-accessible info to get you through most maintenance & repair issues.

Plus my Barnett's manual is out-of-date now, and I'm too cheap to pay for the CD version.

I really enjoy the Park Tool book but I picked up a how to magazine at Barnes and Noble from these guys http://www.bikeradar.com/ and it has some of the best "how to" that I have found. I tried to find it on their site so I could give a direct link but didn't have much luck in the few minutes I searched, sorry :D

I like the book and I think its better than the online stuff; mainly the presentation layer is better. They also give a few equations that are handy if I recall.
