Same trouble on my Palomino
I have two bikes here. One is a carbon Fuel 98, the other is a Palomino and neither has ISO disc tabs welded to the frame. Both bikes have a new set of Hayes HFX-9s, both use the Trek bolt-on disc brake adaptor. One has the stock Bontrager hub and rim, and the other has a new XT M756 hub and Mavic rim with XT QR skewer.
No matter which wheel I use on each bike, the Palomino develops a vibration under moderate to light braking that shakes the whole bike, and the Trek does not. Both brake systems are identical in spec and age. I have changed the pads on the Palomino to the Hayes semi metallic from the stock sinterized pads, but there was no change in the vibration. Running the QR skewer tight or loose, or XT or Bontrager doesn't change the vibration condition.
It seems to have been suggested earlier in this thread that there was a brake therapy style adaptor (or not) that may help remove this condition. Can someone elaborate?
