Just rode over by Pacifica. There are rivers running down the fire roads. I was able to rinse my shoes off at my car because there was so much water flowing. All the trails are beyond saturated. It’ll take a minimum of a week for things to dry out. I ended up just riding the fire roads and even those are pretty wet (See pic of bike). I checked out the top of some of the sandy trails, those are muddy too.

So unless you’re a trail builder, stay away for a while please.

Agree - I got some ill-advised intel and tried to ride there and cut the ride way short - I skipped most of the trails I was going to ride - there was 1 trail that was good, but you had to ride stuff that shouldn't be ridden in order to access the good one, so not a good option overall and really bad for the bike

Thanks, I was just wondering if some of the rockier trails might be ok by now.
Unfortunately I think they need more time - they were extremely saturated and haven't been getting any sun - and even if the 5280 foot trail was good to go, which it wasn't even close, you need to traverse over to it on a trail that is an absolute mud pit

Thanks for the reports. It really saves trails to report conditions like this. I was about to drive 40 minutes to Pacifica, then tromp around in horrible mud, only to have to abort ride, and drive home 40 more minutes. Not good for me, or Trailbuilders, or bike. Thank you.

That’s what I was hoping, but not really. It’s an almost unrideable journey across the saddle. People are riding it, but the width off the trail is exploding at one part (I stopped there and turned around because it was peanut butter soup). I didn’t go all the way to the top of the upper ones though. Just looked at the bottom. It was pretty muddy.

Thanks, yeah, pretty much the situation for the whole Peninsula, at least, for another week or so probably, from what I have seen. Hopefully Pacifica will dry out a little quicker (minus Boy Scout) than the rest of the trail systems around here, by the 15th or so.

I think Boy Scout is gonna take weeks, plural, from what I saw. 😬. Especially if we keep getting rain.

100% listen to this.

I went before the rain this week thinking it would be OK. It is absolutely not. Mile was a **** show, the saddle was a slop fest. I didn't ride Boyscout but the bottom looked like it is not far from flowing.

For that matter Waterdog is mess also. I put on a heavy pack and hiked it yesterday. The clay is going to take weeks to dry out unless we get some unusual heat.
