p2 vs Evil Imperial

So I'm the process of trying to build up a hardtail for some urban riding and a little bit of dirt jumping. I already have a 03 p2 long frame with cranks. I was planning on buying stem, handlebars, and a wheelset off a local for some undisclosed amount. The thing is he is also selling his evil imperial frame for about 400 bucks and if I bought the frame I could probably get the other stuff for free. Now the question is do i by the evil and then sell the p2 or do i just go with what I already have? Ethier way I'm going to end up spending more money on the evil but I'm wondering if its worth it. I know the imperial is a pretty diesel frame I'm just wondering if its worth it over the p2.

evil is a good frame, but the P2 is a little bit lighter and you don't have to spend much money. also you could prolly come accross another evil again sometime in the future on ebay.
The EVIL will weigh more but will be STIFF and if needed can be used with a 7" fork...........
another for EVIL

IMPERIAL - Definitely an awesome frame. I loved mine. And I'll buy another when I get the chance.

Specialized sucks anus they just try to make money for a worse produt with a big name...get the imperial
well im gonna have to buy the other parts if i dont buy the imperial. I figure i could get rid of my p2 for around 150-200. After all is said and done, I would only be spending around 100 dollars more to get the imperial then if i just bought the parts for the p2. I already have a vp-free so I don't really need another freeride setup.

ive had no probs with my p2... can u say that for the demo and enduro sx? i kno that the demos are very popular maybe people just spend around 5 grand for a name?
the imperial frame is so far better than the p2

i agree but i thought that sargon was talking out of his ass.
the imperial is sweet fo sho, it seems long in the top tube and it has a higher head tube. so I think you should be just about right coming off the 'long' p2.

sounds like a good deal if the parts are free. what color is it.

hope its not brown. :p
yea, evil make a nice frame, but you allready have a freeride bike. the evil was intended for more freeride use, it can easily be dirtjumped, but it isnt as nimble as the P. series. I would just stick with your P.2 because you really arent going to need the extra pounds and with the 100 bux you would save, buy yourself some brakes, bars whatever else. i'm in the process of turning my P.2 into a freeride hardtail, its a strong frame, stick with it.
Get the imperial!!. The frame weighs 6.1 lbs, which i am sure is not that much heavier then the P-2. The cool thing with the imperial is the adjustable wheelbase. I have had mine since 03' and would not give it up. My riding has improved tremendously since getting the evil over my previous kona scrap. The evil and be set up for just about any type of riding, which is nice if your interests change ie. skate park to DH. Good luck with your decision.
