i am looking into the Rotor Q Ring for Single Speeding. They currently have Single Speed Specific (i guess deeper teeth), and maybe in the future also with Narrow Wide configuration
How important do you guess is the NW vs. just having deeper teeth?
They are cheaper than the QRing by a fair whack. I've been using both for a while now.
The Goldtec ring has slightly wider teeth than the Qring and the shape is much the same.
They also sell them in 33, 34, 35 and 39 at the moment.
I'm running a Goldtec 34t on my singlespeed. I'm not sure that NW teeth would make much of a difference for singlespeed, if the chain's tensioned properly it shouldn't be coming off at all.
I must say, I've not really noticed a difference riding the Goldtec ring on the singlespeed but on my geared bike I run a Rotor Q-Ring and it feels a little smoother on the climbs than it did with the normal round ring.
