my Shimano SLX External bottom bracket stripped out and i have a truvativ gxp bottom bracket laying around but im not sure the compatibility. im going from 3 chainrings up front to a single if that changes anything. thanks in advance

Unfortunately Truvativ bottom brackets are not interchangeable with any of the other brands

Are the threads in the frame OK?

I went for a Hope BB when one of my Shimanos quit. It's been on for less than a year, so don't know about long term durability yet.

yea the threads in the frame look fine but im going to run a tap through them just for drill. if they arent ok im still under warrenty and the bb was installed from factory.

i believe the truvativ drive side cup is compatible but not the non drive. the non drive side has a smaller bore
