The SoMo (Southern Mountains) trails in phoenix

rented a couple of new Kona Cadaberas from the good people at Cactus Bike shop.

I dunno, looks pretty hot and dusty, probably not very comfortable, and those cacti! They look like they're waiting to attack as you ride by!

Looks like a great ride! Did you ride with locals or did you find the trails on your own?

the temperature only got up to 20 deg cel.
not to much dust as it had been raining pretty steady a couple of days before.
We rode on our own, the trails were well marked and we also had a map from the bike shop.
the city is surrounded by these parks and mountains.
this park was 17,000 acres.

I didn't even think of that.
we brought spare tubes and pump and they supplied us with more tubes and CO2 cartridges.
Thinking we should of carried a pry bar in case we impaled ourselves on those cactus.

So... I may have a shot at attending a conference in Phoenix in November....
TT, would you be able to ride to the trails from the bike shop??? Any public transit out that way???

The trail head was just a couple of blocks from Cactus bikes.
very easy to find.
I would think there is public transit out to that area.
