I am working in Billerica, MA for a few weeks and have a free wknd. I figure I should take in an east coast resort, but not sure which one.

I live around Lake Tahoe and like to ride the trees off of black diamond runs. Not really interested in wrecking myself in a park on a work trip...so park does not matter. Not really worried about driving to get to something fun...any recommendations?

thanks

Hey, if you want good snow don't ignore the smaller areas. I work at Crotched Mountain Ski & Ride as the snowboarding supervisor, and we have plenty of snow, and it's damn nice out there. I wish we had fresh snow so the trees would be better, but what he heck! Look me up, I can more than likely hook you up with a comp pass or two during the week, weekends are a bit tougher, give me a heads-up and I'll see what I can do.

Crotched is definitely a fun place, so hopefully we do get some snow for the weekend. It is a SMALL mountain, but if conditions do get fluffy again there are plenty of short glades off the main trails and then some if you hike to the "real" top. Check out www.skinh.com for info on lots of the the NH mountains (not all are listed there). I also like Gunstock, Ragged, and Waterville. Compared to Tahoe though everything out here is going to be small. I am sure you are aware though that any mountain is good if it provides the ability to get some turns in.
