Is this on non fat bikes? All the snow up there seems too deep and firm to plow through wagon wheel style, but too soft to float over the top of without sinking in.

Depending on how high you went, a snow bike would've been good. Probably could've gone a little further with those big tires. Conditions were prime up to the waterfall. I rode my Covert and had about 20lbs in my 2.35 high rollers. Pics here

Granted, it was night and cold. Daytime may be another thing entirely. I think the freeze/thaw cycle with recent daytime warm temps really helped.
