Wheel width has less to do with ride/performance than the wheel's profile, core size, edge type, and the particular urethane used.

The Fullbag is much stiffer, has concave, and no camber. The Drop Carve has some (stiff) flex, no concave, and a slight camber. The latter will turn tighter, whereas the latter is more stable. Two, wildly different boards. If you want a nimble board to pump around on, the Landy is the one to get. If, however, you want to go as fast as your 'nads will allow, get the Fullbag.

The Battle Axe is stiffer, and oddly enough, doesn't have the wheel clearance that the Drop Carve does. The concave holds your feel in place better, but the Drop Carve is no slouch.

So do you think the Drop Carve sounds right for me? "Dog Boarding" is what I'm gonna be doing 90% of the time. I weigh 185ish, when the dogs are hauling ass, I might be going 20mph. I want something I can turn sharp with, incase some ahole comes flying around corner. But is still stable...

The Drop Carve is reasonably stable, but for what you're describing, I'd recommend the EarthWing Supercharger.

White Tanks Longboarding

Just got back from MTBing out at the White Tanks. They just black toped the roads out there! Way better than the used to be. I'm gonna take my board out there and give it a go soon. I haven't had a chance to hit any hills yet but there looks perfect for me. Only one big hill, the rest are just rollers. Then Olive on the way back to town looks pretty fun. If anyone wants to check it out let me know...

If you're looking for some fun little hills to practice on, the paved paths around the lakes at ASU research park are fun. None of them are too gnarly, but are a good place to cruise around and get up some speed. I used to cruise around those three lakes quite a bit. If you can get there earlier on a weekday, it's a ghost town.

Just rolled a nice hill near Squaw Peak tonight. Pretty mellow, but its fun to mess around on after dark, and it has an almost flat stretch at the end that makes it easier to stop.

Niiiiiice! I scored a like new Landy Evo off CL on Friday for $100. It's really sweet. Way easier to pump with the dropped deck. I feel stable as hell when the dogs are haulinass. I'm trying to talk all my friends into getting boards now. I let them know to check out Mile High. :thumbsup:

Plus and the kids in the neighborhood act like they have never seen a long board before...Really suprised me, hopefully it picks up around here.

hey lucky-b. i saw that evo on the list also. i noticed today it was gone. thats slick you scored it for 100 bills. $ 120 was a good price allready! yeah keep spreading the stoke in your neighborhood. the general public still thinks the longskates are regular skateboards. i run into people i know, who say they thought i was a punk untill they figured out it was me riding. they think i'm losing it at my age, but we know how fun it is to longboard don't we
