I can't get any answers from Mozilla and Netscape. Both programs have the same problem.

The history won't record until you get to the 6 day and older mark. Also when I type in the website to go to, it won't stay in the pull down addresses after you exit the program. It's getting real old typing in forums.mtbr.com everytime I want to come here.

I check the preferences and options setting for both programs, they are set to record history for 60 days. So, I don't know what I'm missing here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've never had that issue. Have you tried importing all of your settings from IE, etc... upon installation?

Another option would be to avoid looking at porn for the first 6 days, so you wouldn't need to wipe out the history to begin with. :)

I have noticed that - if you delete the history of a particular day, any website that you have visited that day (regardless of whether or not it shows in the history of previous days) will dissappear from the pull down menu. Not that I would have any reason to clear my history, mind you...

I don't quite know what to say to that. I hope that's a joke. If not, you must be speaking from personal experience. No porn viewing here.

I've not "wiped out" the history on either program. It just started when I installed Firefox. The same symptom began with both programs after that.

Yeah, I was just joking.

How is it that you know that the history does not start working until after the 6th day? - Are you installing on multiple machines? I take it that the history works fine after the 6th day? If so - is this really a problem - or were you justing asking out of curiosity?

No Problem.

When I hit Control- H to check the history, it displays today, and anything older than six days. Nothing in between, my wife will occassionally need something she looked at a few days ago, and does not recall the address, so I will find it for her in the history, so this has been a problem.

I'm at the point where if I can't solve the problem, I will delete the programs and re-install, but then I need to figure out how to save all the old emails and email addresses.

Thanks

Not just bookmark, but, bookmark the links you want to the "bookmarks toolbar folder" -then you have a nice toolbar of quick links.

I have no problems with Linux or Windows versions on several computers, and you could try the 1.03 update if you do not already have it.

There's a little app called Mozbackup you can use to backup all your profile info.

I've never seen that particular problem, but you can see if someone's reported it in the bug forums. Of course, I'm assuming you have the latest version of firefox.
