OT Boulder Hotels..

I'm planning a special night for the wife and I for her birthday. So far I have planned limo ride from Highlands Ranch to the Superior Melting Pot then to a nice hotel somewhere in the Boulder area, downtown preferably. Personality is a plus too.
Definitely not interested in a Holiday Inn or a Motel6 kind of place, however nothing like 500 bucks a night either....
It's going to be just the both of us. Any ideas?

St. Julien or Boulderado. I'm sure they are pricey, but not $500.
Boulderado has more character, St. Julien has a better vibe. If you head down there on a Friday night St. Julien has a band, typically salsa or reggae, in the lobby. There's a nice bar right in the lobby and their restaurant is pretty good, too.

Like the others, St. Julien or Boulderado. The Spa at the St. Julien is fantastic if you plan on a little extra for the wife. Mine loved hers.
Another consideration: Have you been to the Sherpa House in Golden yet? Another really good resturant. IF you're going for uber class, you can always hit up the Briarwood here in Golden. Its on the way to Boulder.
Thanks guys! I am sure about the St. Julien, I'm not totally set on the dining experience though. I have been there a few times but not with the wife. I think she like it for sure. I just can't ask her outright.....
Crap :(
IE what is the Briarwood about?
Boulder Outlook takes it for personality.

I was expecting an M.D. on call 24x7 and a dispensary in the lobby instead of a gift shop :D
Brasserie Ten Ten is right across the street from St. Julien and is a great place to take the wife.
Which is the haunted one, Boulderado? Go ghost hunting too :D

That would be Gold hill Inn.

Scott, now that you have your Hotel (if not here is another http://www.briarrosebb.com/?source=googloc ) set up, your restaurant choice is much harder. Remember, Boulder is a premier place to eat now that all the super chefs have moved here. ;)

I say pick your style of food, but IMO, the Med, near the Julien has always been a great place. It has stood the test of time. If you love tapas, indulge your senses with variety...and if you hit happy hour, you can make up for a lot of the hotel costs.

Nice work on the Birthday with the Misses. Have fun whatever you do. She will love it.

Wasn't that Estes park last time I checked?

Oh wait, you are talking about the haunted place....

JAX, Brasserie Ten Ten, Frasca's, the Kitchen, Q's at the Boulderado, all good options
Fellas, I'm retooling the dinner part. The melting pot gets soso reviews.
Plus I think I need options anyhow.
Thanks
Scott
If she likes Italian go eat at Campo de Fiore in Cherry Creek and stay at some posh hotel there...

If you try too hard and have high expectations, you are doomed.

I could never try to accomplish what you are trying to do.

I would do like Indiana Jones does and make it up as I go.
+1 for Boulderado!

Its Elegant, fine dining. Its a place where anniverseries and special occasions are celebrated. Good food, nice atmosphere for that type of thing.
