I've always wanted to drive my truck down up this one. It looks manageable enough but that one sharp right turn as you're heading down looks tricky with a couple of 1 ft drops right at the turn. Looks like it could cause someone to high-center or hit the body if they didn't have sliders.

Captain: With that rig you will have no issues on Pauley. It's a lot milder than say the Rubicon or Sierra Trek routes. If you do Pauley, be sure to include the Deer Lake OHV trail. Steep and ledgy but not very long. It connects to Pauley.
The only technical section around there is Snake Lake Tr., unless there's snow...

This is the only picture I could find. FP, I believe.

Deer Lake and Snake Lake. Do those trails start near the campgrounds with the same names (also Salmon Lake up there)? Those connect to Pauley Creek? Cool. All OHV legal I hope.

That Snake Lake trail looks to be more than I'd want to take my Tacoma on. Pauley Creek is about as technical as I'd get.

Deer Lake Tr starts right at the paved lot of Deer Lake, goes around the south side of the lake, past some really cool camp sites and takes a left to the west up the ridge. At the top you can go left, south, to packer saddle, straight and down which connects directly to the top of baby heads, or right to Little Deer Lake and Snake Lake Tr.

You can drive all the way through to A-Tree and Plumas-Eureka SP.

I've actually never been to Snake Lake, but I've been down the road from the top until it started to get technical. We were alone and in my stocker, so not taking any chances. The same day we got into and out of some trouble going down the Little Deer Lake Tr due to snow. Always remember that down is easier than up.

Sweet. Thanks for the topo map.

Yeah, I wouldn't try anything remotely technical alone. I'd hate to get stuck with no help, that could be real bad.

You drove down that section of Snake Lake in the picture? WOW!
