There's also a Filing for a Motion to Amend the Complaints (hopefully more charges to be filed but might be motions to drop charges). Can anyone be there?

I'm embarrassed to admit having the hearing date on my calendar.

I'll be really interested to hear what the judge has to say. Cyclists deserve r e s p e c t!

Don't forget your comedy trombones!

If you guys do attend please be serious. I suspect he's going to try and paint like this whole thing is the MTB community persecuting him and a bunch of people in attendance being goofy or wearing masks will only confirm his belief.

Respect is earned. Leave the comedy and the trombones at home. I'm sure the judge would strongly prefer quiet, respectful attention.

I see nothing wrong with wearing a jersey to announce your interest in the case (quietly).

Oh yeah!

I looked fantastic and I was wondering if it was as memorable to everyone else.:D

No, really, I wore a suit in case I was interviewed for TV; not my main goal but it happens. iHeart had some good talking points and delivered them well. Prep in that regard is valuable, too.

One point is that simply being there is important. Mike V is a public menace and particularly toxic for our community. Our presence is important.

The other point is that all sorts of folks go to court. Brush the dust off, button your shirt properly, comb your hair and you are good to go.

But go!

I consider this to be a very serious issue. All joking aside, my comments are made with a sense of irony.

As long as this sport has been evolving it is still in it's youth in terms of respect. It does have to be earned. And this is one of the trials and tribulations in which we find ourselves. And I regret not being able to attend the hearing. It's important, and I appreciate the time and energy you guys are putting into it.

It may not be that we stand to lose much from this case, but it could be a place from which we launch into a new context. We're here, and we're not going to just fade away. We ARE part of the community. Not just a phenomenon.

You're too kind. I had no talking points and was ill prepared to be interviewed. I asked not to be videotaped - but it's kinda hard to say no with reporters as conscientous as that one. She is good.

Nevertheless I stand by my quote: "mountain biking illegally is not nearly as bad as assault with a deadly weapon." This really isn't hard to understand!

Breed. Relentlessly (and often! ) Take your offspring mountain biking. Make sure the schools support it.

The next generation of mountain bikers will have a much easier time than we did.
