Has anyone order directly from the website?
Does specialized deliver quickly?

I have ordered quite a bit direct from them. Usually about a week to ten days to get stuff from them.

Got some tires. The only issue was our local FedEx service sucks, which isn't Spec's fault. They shipped out pretty quick.

Is direct order the new thing from specialized?

just ordered a new epic evo s-works frame from them, so will tell you how long it takes. their warehouse supposed to be in Utah.
I did but it was before covid. During/after covid no shipping has been on time.
I sent Specialized an order for a Trek Fuel 9.9, but they never sent it.

I sent them an envelope full of S&H green stamps to pay for it. Trying to get a refund.
I have bought 2 bikes and the timeframe above is pretty accurate (7-10 days) depending on your LBS. they will most likely be the longer lead time if you have it shipped to them. I can’t speak to the other two delivery options they have, direct to home & home specialized mechanic.
I’ve only ordered stuff like helmets and accessories from the website over the years.

Always ships quick and via FedEx.

If I crack my Ripley frame, I’ll probably order a S-Works Stumpjumper frame from them, so there is that.
I ordered a Status Feb 1, and it's ready to be picked up from the shop today.

I have an alloy Stumpy Evo on order. Ordered November, originally due February, now September.
Wonder if a direct order would beat it!?
I order a seat bag for my wife's gravel bike on Saturday, January 29th. It shipped two days later on Monday the 31st via FedEx. As fast is to be expected. It is now ten days later and it hasn't arrived. The original scheduled delivery date was Wednesday the 4th.

FedEx can suck big time, depending on what regions your delivery has to go through.

I doubt it. I don’t know for sure but I would Assume and hope that orders placed through dealers supersede that same inventory being available Online. However it might be worth looking at their website to see if there is another color or model (up or down) that might be in stock.

It doesn't seem like they do.

My buddy purchased a Stumpjumper for his wife about a month ago. Ordered it on Specialized website as it showed "in stock" on their website and had it delivered to a local dealer within a few days.

When he picked it up, the dealer was astonished that he got that bike as they had at least 3 of the same bike on back order with Specialized for several months that still were showing extended lead times.

Well there you go. The internet wins again. I personally don't see the need to buy from a LBS but understand why some do, especially new riders and those unsure about what they want or what size they need.........

I'd go out and sign up for notifications for when the bike is in stock then jump on it.

While there certainly are some GREAT bike shops out there there are also some pretty bad ones. Whenever you get your new bike i highly recommend going over it with a torque wrench - Especially the brake calipers. I dont know why but the last 3 bikes ive purchased have ALL required caliper alignment and tightening. the 1st two unfortunately were done trail side. Fool me once shame on you - fool me twice shame on me.

It doesn't matter where I get a complete bike, as soon as it hits my hands it gets fully taken apart and put back together by me. However, my last few bikes I built them from a frame up anyway.

The only bike I ever felt like I wasted my time doing it was on my younger daughter's bike. The shop did a great job, and everything was spot on. I really like that shop, unfortunately it's over an hour away from me so I rarely make the trip.

Make the drive. I drive 2.5 hours to visit the best dentist breathing. We need LBS to survive. They saved me on stuff I need on Saturday morning and have helped me a ton. Like getting me a complete brand new Di2 derailuers, battery and junction box under warranty 1.9 years after purchase. I could not have made that happen. And they reinstalled everything perfectly and for free. Save our LBS.
