Hello Folks

This is the link to the Orbea OIZ Pro M TR

It can be customized but it seems there's no way to change the original shimano XT components. I hate all those cables at front, so in order to reduce that, I would love to have this exact down country bike (120 - 120, changes in angles) with a wireless shifting solution.

Is this possible with Orbea, or is this a change that I have to do by myself with a local dealer?

The way to do this would do would be to order a 2021 Orbea Oiz M Ltd (which comes with SRAM AXS) and in the configuration options under suspension you can choose to have the 120mm TR model upgrade for +$159 USD fitted which adds the longer travel shock and fork from new.:)

On the 2021 Orbea Oiz M Ltd page it's the Configuration option under Fork.

Hi, I don't think this is the same because the TR has 120mm travel in both the fork and shock, and because of that they have a different system at the back to support the 120mm travel and I think they also do some changes with the angle as well. Please correct me If am wrong.

Yes, you are right guys and I presume the Head angle of the bike is also changed to 68 (down countryish..) instead of 69 (XCO)

The difference between a 100mm Orbea Oiz and a 120mm Orbea Oiz TR is that the 100mm version has a Fox 32 Stepcast 100mm travel suspension fork and Fox DPS 190x40mm rear shock whilst the 120mm TR version has a Fox 34 Stepcast 120mm travel suspension fork and a longer stroke Fox DPS 190x45mm rear shock.

The frame angles on the TR change slightly because the 20mm longer travel fork slackens the head tube angle. The actual carbon fibre frame and rear triangle are the same for both versions of the bike.

The other way you could switch to SRAM AXS would be to get a 2021 Orbea Oiz M Pro TR, which comes with a Shimano Deore XT M8100 groupset, and then a separate SRAM AXS XX1 upgrade kit (this consists of just the rear AXS derailleur, AXS shifter, one AXS battery and a charger).

You'd keep the rest of the Shimano Deore XT M8100 drivetrain and fit the AXS upgrade kit to get rid of the cable shifter. That works out far cheaper than an Orbea Oiz M Ltd (although the M Ltd does come with DT Swiss XRC 1200 carbon wheels which are nice) and is what I did with my 2020 Orbea Oiz M Team after the Shimano XTR M9100 shifter broke: :)

For a non factory SRAM AXS install you'd probably want an Orbea Oiz blanking plate kit also:

The second solution you propose is really interesting, but I wonder, is the SRAM XX1 axs upgrade kit really compatible with Shimano XT? or is it some kind of a hack? I could not find any information about this.

It's a hack in that the cassette sprocket spacing is very slightly different between a 12 speed Shimano MTB cassette and a 12 speed SRAM MTB cassette but in practice it's close enough that the shifting works interchangeably.:)

The SRAM AXS rear derailleur has up to a 52 tooth max size rear sprocket capacity so handles a 10-51 tooth cassette with no issues.

If you order the M PRo TR and want AXS, I would suggest to swap the entire drivetrain. Shimano purposefully designed their 12spd to be different from Sram.

Being that SHimano components are in short supply and eternal back order you'd sell the XT stuff in a heartbeat.

You'll also need a freehub body for the DT swiss wheelset.

This is the way I understood the customizing. I am going to order the OIZ M Pro TR sell the entire stock drivetrain, brakes and wheels to build a OIZ TR AXS with carbon rims. Disappointed they don't offer more custom configs given the fact they're pre-order for 7 months.
