hey everybody:

i am planning on heading down to NC like thursday or friday (race is on sunday) for the off road assult on mount mitchell.

i was just wondering if anyone else is headed down early? anyone want to catch up for a mellow ride friday or saturday? anyone wanna show me some nice fishing/hiking spots where i can relax/camp for a couple days before the race? i really wanted to do some riding in the area but the more i read, the more i think i'd better save most of my legs for sunday.

also: i am headed down (alone) from PA so i could even give someone a ride if it is not too far out of my way!

anyone got any fun planned for the days leading up to oramm? i am open to any suggestions and i'd even buy the beer

We've got a crew of about 6-8 heading up from Memphis. We're leaving here that Friday. I think we will get a cabin somewhere (I'm not doing the planning on this one).

I'd be up for a ride or hike or waving around the fly-rod.

Never been to the area, so I know nothing other than it should be a fun weekend.

last year we rode Kitsuma on Saturday.

Probably going to do that again. Just take it real easy with some walking and the legs will be fine Sunday. Or you will cramp and have to walk for 20 minutes on the long climb. Either way, it's all good. :)

cool awesome info guys!

the linville gorge sounds awesome! so aweonse infact that myabe i will get there thursday afternoon and try to camp there thursday and friday. according to the info i found no permit is required during the week!

anyone know how they do trout stamps in NC? could i pick up a two day pass? i would love to camp somewhere fairly remote near a stream and dangle my line for dinner. if not there is always camping food...

anyone want to plan a time to ride Kitsuma on saturday? i am assuming it is not too far from the Linville Falls Visitor Center.

anyone else with any cool ideas feel free to chime in. i KNOW this is beautiful country! a tour guide for some little slices of it would be excellent, but i am more than willing to do my own exploring as well.

how is this area in relation to gettin food and drink? should i pack my own grub/booze in or is there a grocery/beer store nearby?

finally, any good recomendations on finding a hearty breakfast before the ride sunday??? :D
