I was thinking of fabricating something like these:

But before I do, are there any other companies out there that make similar items?

I did a Amazon search and didn't really find anything. What are people using out there?

What are you trying to do? There are numerous "handlebar accessory mounts" available at major online retailers. They're for mounting lights, computers, bells, etc, but they probably won't take the weight of a handlebar bag, aero bars, etc.

I use the second one with carbon pole to mount my light above the handlebar bag.
This summer I rode far north and with midnight sun I did not use the light. The extension beared the weight of a full 0.5L water bottle just fine.
