Anybody adding trails to OpenStreetMap?

It's an open wiki-like map that I think has a lot of potential for building great MTB maps.

Some of the proposed features would be really cool, like tagging trails downhill, XC, etc. There are already tons of features for tagging trails for hike/bike/vehicle access, steepness, surface type, all kinds of stuff.

It's definitely a work in progress, but it could be really cool.

Well, I mapped a couple trails from my two latest rides. I've just started riding with gps, and my goal for 2009 is to map every trail i can here in the Los Angeles area. The commercial maps just leave a lot to be desired.

If Anyone wants to help map SoCal trails, PM me. Just posting GPX files or sending them to me could be helpful, especially for trails with multiple lines.

If nothing else, this will be a good excuse to ride lots of different trails.
