Interesting concept

I'm wondering if ebay T & C addresses this issue of payouts for bids. There will be no way to track whether the seller actually pays these people for bidding, as they will not have won an auction, so there's no way for them to leave feedback.

I'm watching this one on my ebay account. My $$ says the auction gets pulled. If not, I can't wait to see the buyer's feedback. Based on the amount of negaitve and neutral feedback this person has received as a buyer and a seller, this should be interesting.

I hope others take the time to report scams at http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_us/_base/index_6.html?item=&topic=index_6&continue=Continue+>

On that note, who is bidding and "winning" these auctions? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1469&item=5644262770

This guy paid $88 for nothing, and didn't seem too upset over it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1469&item=5640876701 (read the feedback)

Problem with e-vigilantism is that some of the tactics the guy targets are used by legit sellers. Cutting and pasting from a manufacturer's website for example.

He cites busting over 500 scam/fraud auctions and good on him for that, but I wonder how many legit auctions he's disrupted in the process?

I asked the guy that. He says none. Says he emails the seller first and sometimes flat out asks why he should not report it to ebay: the copy/pasting alone is not a sign, but a signal that used in conjunction with the others (1 day auction, private ID, new seller hawking 25 Trek Madones). The legit sellers understand there are scams hurting their business. But I bet the friendly fire rate is real in ebay vigilantism; that's why you have mutual feedback removal.

With those bikes, I always email and ask about payment, suggesting 'we' use escrow.com.

Scammers ALWAYS reply 'Oh no , that outfit is no good, we have lost money with them. we use (something like) USAescrowservices/net '
Then you do know
