so I'm converting to 29er after long deliberation and a final answer in the form of my fork blowing a seal and not really being worth the fix...I've decided on swapping out my frame and fork and wheels for an On-One inbred 29er and big wheels. I'm just wondering about size. on paper, the 19.5 looks to be right for me. I'm 6'1" and about 195 and I like a longer TT. the 19.5 should fit fine. but...what if I get a mary bar? I'll need to run a little longer stem right? and I've heard that running a longer stem "ruins the 29er experience"...so should I get the bigger frame? it seems like the XL frame would be too big. what's the opinion on running longer stems with 29ers? or am I wrong in thinking that I'll need to run a longer stem with the mary?

A buddy of mine is 6'1.5" and need longer toptubes than my 6'4". He'd get a 21" without question. The toptubes on the Inbred29's are long but still not Fisher-long. And shortish stems work very nicely on 29"ers anyway, IMO. It probably depends on the kind of position you prefer, racey or relaxed. Some riders your size go for the 18", but that looks like they picked a full size too small to me. Or am I riding a full size too big? Then what are 21"bikes built for?

Inbred29+Mary...great choice, I've raced the Inbred and own a Mary.
