I know this has been discussed before... I've searched and found some information on this..
Can BB7's be used on the rear of a Ti or Steel On One Inbred 29er ? Some say as long as they are over 160mm discs...

Yes! Even set up SS. If you're creative with a wrench, you can set them up easily.

Yups It will work.

But the downside is that, because of the horzontal positioning, water will get into the cable system. You can guesstimate what happens next. Buddy of mine had some frozen cables and subsequently switched to hydro's as this is a closed system.

Guess that was me.
I had problems with water coming in the outer cable.
The water accumulates at the lowest point, the bend at the bb.
In wintertime it freezes up, making it impossible for the rear brake to disengage.

But I had no problems with the BB7 and the brakelever touching the frame.
BTW, I used a 160mm disc.

I'm running a 185mm rotor on my steel Inbred without problem. The allen bolt closest to the dropout that secures the caliper to the 185 adapter is a little tough to get to, but once setup, I've not had any problems. FWIW, I have it setup 2x9 with the wheel all the forward in the drops.

All this talk of Ti and BB7s is making me think of how cool Ti BB7s would be. Strong, reliable, simple and as light as you like. mmmmmm
