Older Trek Questions

I would probably be banned from the "VRC" area for asking questions abour a trek Y bike there. So I figured I'd venture a few questions here.... I have a '97 Y50 that I want to make into my "townie/SS" bike. I've had it since 97' and basicly just have the frame and shock, and need some info if anyone has any.....

1. Seatpost clamp: I measured 35.6mm will the newer 34.9 work?
2. Shock: I have a Stratos coil over air unit (still holding air and oil well) but for how long??? Looking at the stroke ammount, (eventually want to put a fox float r in it's place)
3. Disk brake adapter (who makes em?)
