about a 2001 jekyll 600. has a super fatty head shok on it that is stuck locked out so im upgrading. what should i get!? i have no clue what i should pput on this bike with the way the front suspension is now. any suggestions or help will be good thanks

I am sure someone with a lot more knowlegde will jump in, but as far as I know here are your options (in the order I would personally choose):

1. Get a lefty

2. Repair cheaply if possible (obviously depending on cost)

3. Use a headset reducer and put a standard 1 1/8" fork on

4. Replace with another headshok of the same style.

I do not think that those had a lot of travel (80mm?) but make sure you try to stay around the orginal travel that your bike was spec'ed for.

Generally speaking, the cheapest for is the one you already own.

Depending on how exact your summation of it's condition is, it might be a simple fix, or you may have contamination which has caused it to seize up. Assuming the cartridge can be saved, the rest of the forks guts being replaced shouldn't run more then the cost of a used one, of unknown provenance, most likely in need of repair. So, under $150 easily.

New fork, stem, headset, etc you'd need to go non Cannondale suspension would easily exceed that.

80 to 100 mm forks (as in Headshock or Lefty) are just right for that frame....:thumbsup:

What i did on my 2004 jekyll was to put in an FSA headset that reduced the head tube down to the standard 1 1/8" and put in an adjustable travel Manitou fork. Having an adjustable travel fork worked well with the adjustable geometry in the rear of the jekyll for fine tuning the ride.

if you go that route i think i have a spare FSA reducer headset laying around....

The same fork seems most logical but I was thinking of just putting a new rockshok tora on and using a reducer. Now I'm really stumped, any input on which way is better? What would be the pros and cons? Thanks so much already for the help.

I actually just found the 2011 rockshock dart is pretty nice. I'll throw that in there for debate too
