but this is a complicated one I think.

I changed from a setup of

04 Shimano XTR integrated shifter & brake combonation with 04 XTR rear der.

to

SRAM XO rear der.
SRAM 9.0 triggers
Magura Marta SL's

did I gain or lose weight?

Thanks to anyone that has some help. I'm having a hard time seperating the components at the website and I don't have a scale.

according to what i worked out you lost 326 g on the brakes

you may have gained about 14g on the rear derailleur
you lost almost half a pound on the shifters 412 for xtr, 196 for x.0
so you've lost 512 g

that's just my quick and dirty work, i probably missed something like the marta sl's on weightweenies don't include levers but maybe not.

looks like you missed something big - you have to add everything together (xtr calipers, rotors, sti shifters and rear d. minus martas and XO stuff).

i know he lost weight as the XO shifters and marta SL's are about the lightest setups you can get, but he didnt lose that much lol. i think i got like 60 grams or something befor i gave up @[email protected]

According to WW.starbike:

03 XTR integrated shift brake combo: 442g claimed, no verified
04 XTR rear der: 198g (gs) 200g (sgs)
Total: 640-642g

to

SRAM XO rear der: 204g (med) 210g (long)
SRAM 9.0 triggers : 240g ( I assume you mean X9 tirggers)
Magura Marta SL's: No listing for the levers.

So, you saved about 200g minus the weight of the levers.

I think some confusion comes from what he actually changed. My impression was that he changed his complete disc brakes + shifters and RD. If that's the case here's what I got:

New Setup = Marta SLs complete F + R (702g) + XO RD long cage (210g) + SRAM X.9 triggers no cables (212g) = 1124 g

Old setup = 2 XTR calipers (196g) + 2 XT rotors 280g + hoses/fluid (~80g depending on length) + XTR STI (442g) + XTR RD (198g) = 1196 g

Difference = 72 g saved
