So I am in the middle of a Super Deluxe reservoir swap project, I had ordered some Maxima Plush 7wt oil as is stock, but it looks like it may be weeks to get here.

I have some 2.5w Motorex on hand, 3wt RS oil, and can go to the local moto shop and see what they have.

How important is it to match viscosity? How different will it be with 2.5wt in it?
I'm sure the moto shop will have Golden Spectro as well as Honda fork oils.

It's a little 190X45 Super Deluxe RCT, I swapped a 62mm reservoir can on it to clear the frame.

Should be fine with either the motorex or RS 3wt as they’re both shock or closed damper oils. Don’t think I’d use golden Spectro or any open cartridge fork oils though. As long as you can keep the low speed rebound in check but I think you’ll have enough range there.

Use the Motorex 2.5wt or RS/Maxima 3wt. It may be quieter with the Plush 7wt but it won't perform better.

Yeah, I didn't really shop around too much for the oil. My fault for sure.

Shock is back together with some 2.5wt Motorex and seems fine so far.
Whenever the Maxima shows up I'll have it on hand for next time.
