Had my new id built up this weekend and rode it sunday and yesterday. Wow, what a bike ! I've not stopped smiling yet. Took it to my usual trails so i had something to compare the ride feel to and it's great. I deliberately chose the most awkward lines on descents and it just flew over everything.

The build is

15 inch gold anodized
Manitou swinger 4 way air set at 5 1/2 inches

Magura Louise fr brakes

No pic yet as my usb port is broken so can't upload off my camera.

Riding again tonight, can't wait..

Oh, and i don't much care about the warranty, i just love this bike

Nice to know that you love this bike... You know, I've had this bike with a really similar build and it rocked too! Now I'm on a Moment, and I like it even most!

Here in the UK a moment frame is much more expensive (£700 more) than the id which is on offer just now, otherwise that's probably the way i'd have gone too, but hey, no complaints from me

I've had my Id for 3 years (cost more than a Moment then :-( ), I still love it, where in the UK are you? I reckon I've got the only one in Yorkshire as I've never seen another up here

Near Harrogate, ride a lot locally Pateley Nidderdale etc, & the odd trip to Dalby/Hamsterley/Wales etc, when I see another Gold Id then I'll know its you, did you get it for £999 from Freeborn? a bargain & £900 less than I paid for mine!

Actually no, freeborn only had mediums left and i needed a small. Mine is 2nd hand (3 months old, owned by a bike shop owner, ridden handful of times) so got it cheaper still. Definately feel i got a great bike for silly money. I'm happy. How do you find the tyre clearance in places like hamsterley ? I don't often ride muddy areas cos i like rocky terrain better but with 2.3 contis on i have about 1cm clearance.

I know how you feel. I moved from a Truth to an Id. The first thing I noticed was how much stiffer the Id is. While heavier than the Truth it feels like it climbs better due to the stiffness.
