The introduction of a Montana Wilderness bill is IMMINENT!

The bill being drafted by Senator Jon Tester and his staff will combine wild landscapes in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge, the Clearwater-Blackfoot and the Yaak roadless areas. This bill, if successful, will bring into law the first new Montana wilderness in 25 long years.

The Montana Mountain Bike Alliance supports new, socially responsible Wilderness areas and has contributed ideas that will help craft a Wilderness bill that balances permanent protection with sustainable economic development and appropriate recreational opportunities across southwest Montana. MMBA has been diligently advocating for our bikes trails affected by the proposed Wilderness areas and now encourages all cyclists to weigh in one last time with the hopes of keeping a few more routes open to backcountry bicyclists.

Please take the time now to write our elected officials to express to them how important continued access to these trails systems are to you and the social and economic health of our Montana communities.

Now is the time to speak up in defense of the great bicycle trails across the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest including the spectacular Continental Divide National Scenic Trail.

Please go to our website for letter writing suggestions and the appropriate addresses for our elected officials. Protect your backcountry riding opportunities by writing a letter today!

Please contribute to the Wilderness bill that Montana deserves!

Please forward this email to every cyclist and backcountry enthusiast you know.

Ride On!
