Saw 2 orange ones in Whistler. The bike looks pretty freaking cool. Hope it has 8 inches with a 63.5 - 64.5 HTa options. Thinking 142x12, 150x12 & 157x12 dropout options. Maybe 26 & 27.5 options.

Yeah, the weight will be interesting. This looks like a bike I'd be very interested in. I don't race DH any longer, and I'm having a hard time justifying owning a full-on DH bike based on the rides I do these days. The Darkside could easily convince me to sell my v10c!

To give you an insight into weight, the black one fully built (inlcuding pedals... non of this excluding pedal weight crap) weighs 37.5lbs with DH inner tubes as seen.

Nice. Maybe a couple pounds more than my Prime.

I read the BR piece about pedal-ability vs DH intent. I don't care if it doesn't climb as well as a Prime or Rune, but it would be nice to get up 200-300 feet of 8-10% grade without having to push. That'll probably be unavoidable for the bulk of the riding it would see under me. I could probably handle that with a SRAM pie plate and a 32t ring, maybe even a 34t.

Really hot bike, Keith. The black one is my desktop at the moment.

Wow, the orange one looks very nice!

I'm currently riding a large Prime and a large Legend. The Legend is a little short for me (189/94cm) and I have to ride a 60mm stem to feel comfortable and get the same handlebar reach as on the Prime with 30mm stem. So it would be desirable for me if the Darkside will be longer than the Legend. To be able to ride it uphill I would need a 470mm seat tube. I can think of replacing my Legend with the Darkside with 650b wheels.
