Tis the season to evaluate what you've tried and liked vs. what you didn't, and then do some horse trading to sort things out for next year.

I have two tires to trade:
-Maxxis Rekon 29 x 2.8", 120tpi, EXO/TR. And,
-Terrene Cake Eater Light, 29 x 2.8", 120tpi TR.

Automotive tire Black Tread Motor vehicle Wood

Tire Wheel Automotive tire Black Tread

Both were ridden on 4 rides, by my 120# wife, on pine-duff covered forest trails. Like new but for a tiny bit of dust.

Interested in a 29 x 3" Chronicle or two, maybe a Cannoli or two, maybe even a Crux or Bulldozer.

Whaddya got?

Two Nobby Nic 2.8 x 27.5. One was mounted the other has four miles. Doesn’t clear the rear of my frame. One is trail compound the other speed.

Looking for a 2.8 Magic Mary 27.5, and a HR2 2.8 27.5.
Dang, I got nuthin' ta trade.

...but I'm lookin' fer 29x3 Vee Trax Fattys.

Is it that nobody likes 'em... or nobody wants to get rid of 'em?

Trading 3.0 and bigger tires (what I like to call “real plus” ;) ) seems dicey unless they’re XR2/4 or Minions. I’m hording lots of 3.0/3.25 plus stuff because I’m afraid it isn’t going to be available again.

You seem to be the most plugged in, Mikesee, so what’s the latest/greatest list of 29x3.0/3.25 stuff you expect to be available over the next year? I’m most curious about the 29x3.25 Duro Crux, Duro Miner and the Vee Bulldozer.

The former. I stocked them for ~a year and couldn't give 'em away.

In 29+:

XR2, XR4, DHF, and DHR are all still available.

I have 100+ of the former two en route, and 50+ of the latter two here already.

Ranger, Dirt Wizard, and Knard are all still being made. All in stock here.

SE4, Chronicle, and Vigilante are gone.

No idea on Duro tires.

Vee is still making the 'dozer, but they won't likely be here before summer.

On that note, how's the Magic Mary 2.8? i'm not digging the Rekon 2.8 for the front, and I'm looking for something with a bit more bite, but nothing that feels so ungodly slow like Maxxis tires do for me.

I have 2 brand new (mounted then removed, not ridden) Schwalbe Hans Dampf2 Super Trails 29 x 2.6 tires.

Taking reasonable offers by PM for 1 or both shipped 48 USA.

Was thinking about $60 each shipped or $105 for the pair shipped.

Good question. Looks grippy AF.

Have one sitting on the shelf. Haven't ridden that tire.

I have 2 teravail Coronados (tan wall) 29x2.8 for sale or for trade. Rear tire has 2 plugs from cactus spikes, tread is good on both with about one season of use. I really liked these when I was living in AZ, not so great in the mud for where I relocated to now.

The 2.6 MM doesn’t feel as slow as the DHF or the Aggassai. But 2.8 casing sometimes changes things.

I do not have any plus tires to trade, but looking to buy a Rekon 29 2.8 Maxterra EXO to try on the front of my rigid SS.

On a different forum we were 3 in the last 2 days saying in our area we need more traction in front.
I liked mine 3c for rear but i have stopped using them in front. Maybe a Nobby Nic would be a better option for front.
Terrene Cake Eater Light, 29 x 2.8", 120tpi TR
How is this as a front?

I have a new unused unmounted Chaoyang 29x3 ‘Big Daddy’ for sale/trade.120tpi folding bead not advertised as tubeless ready. It’s a copy of the panaracer fat be nimble. Under 757g..

I like it a lot, but definitely more as a front than a rear. Little too slow/grippy for my tastes out back.

I've run it on 35, 36, and 40mm rims up front. Can't say I could tell a lot of difference either way.

Nothing + sized to trade, but looking for some 27.5x3.0 Rocket Rons for my gravel bike if anyone's got them. Need something fast & light with good flotation.

Edit: I do have a number of practically new 29" Maxxis DHF WT & non WT tires I could trade.

Haven't seen any RR's in awhile. Check out the Rangers in Light casing, or the Coronado's. I run the Coronado's (in 29 x 2.8") on my forest roadie and they are crazy, crazy supple.

I only have the Rangers in Tough casing, but I've got the Coronado's in 27.5 x 3" if your LBS doesn't.

Found some NOS 3.0 SnakeSkin PaceStars online for $30 each and placed an order. Hopefully the rubber hasn't hardened too much.
