Yep, this is an odd question. I'm in need of some down-tube friction shifters for my latest build. There was a shop called Recycled Cycles in the PNW I would frequent for odds and ends type parts like this.

Anyone know of any shops that would carry old parts like this?

It's been awhile since I was in that game. At the time, bar end shifters could be converted and they were easy to remove the indexing component. You could do this to some Shimano bar end shifters, but I bet modern ones have changed construction.

A bike co-op or vintage shop would likely have a set. Someone on Craigslist would have then in a parts box too. Any road bike from 1985 or earlier world be a good bet.

There's a little shop near me that does nothing but vintage restores.

Thanks everyone. I just sent a message to the CL guy. We'll see what he responds with.

Thanks Rockman but I'm looking specifically for DT shifters. I appreciate the offer.
I'll also check the vintage forum.
