I'm looking to get back into some rock climbing and am sure there's some good sites out there with forums for information on techniques, gear, local routes, etc. I know about Rock and Ice's site, and Climbing.com, but are there others that you'd recommend? Also, what about web retailers you'd recommend? I need a good crash pad or two for bouldering and a new pair of shoes.

Last, any ladies with info on women specific gear, sites, etc, please chime in. I have a friend who wants to get back into it and possibly do some comps.

I re-retired from climbing last year for the 684th time. I *might* try to get back into it later this fall. Even to just hit the local crags though...it's such a PITA. Riding is so much easier to do right after work.

www.summitpost.org <-- quite a resource for beta. Active forums and tons of photos. More focused on general mountaineering than cragging, but you'll find lots of climbers there anyway, of all different types.
