Today was a good day for a Carry Up, Ride Down (C.U.R.D) mission. Foggy and frosty in Christchurch when we left, but a beautiful winters day out in the foothills, so off we headed with our bikes.

The target for the day was Mt Oxford. Altitude start = 350m (1148.3 ft), top = 1364m (4475.1 ft). A difference of 1014m (3327ft).

The rest of the story is over here  https://mountainbikingzane.wordpress.com/2009/06/27/awesome-winter-curd-biking-mission/

but here are a couple of photos to get you going.

Awesome write up and photos for a great excursion. Thanks.
small world, i went on your blog and saw one of my best mates carrying his bike up a hill! you need to get charlie to bring you to the uk and ride some of our trails, not as high but really good on the technical side of things.
nice photos by the way!
Nice! I just started exploring high alpine ridgelines a few years ago. The pain is so worth the reward. The views and the feeling of riding your bike where few people will even venture on foot is a great feeling. I love primitive ST's and game trails too. There is a whole new experience to biking that this kind of riding will open up. Good Stuff!

Hey Nick. Yeh, Charlie and I get out on some good missions over here! I am always keen for visiting anywhere that has good technical riding and pubs with decent beer for after riding!! You could always come visit NZ and do some riding over here as well!!
mmm nz is on the list of places i have to visit, i'll bring my bike too but it'll not be a near future trip!
