Couple of local Northwest Trail Alliance build day opportunities for Portland area riders:

West side:
On-going new trail construction at Stub Stewart State Park

Feb 12, 2011 Stub Build Day

East side:
Trail maintenance on lower Hide & Seek at Sandy Ridge, working on improving the road-to trail section above the powerlines. The BLM has brought in more paver blocks, gravel, equipment and there will be plenty of crew leads on hand to get a lot done. Also, the volunteer incentive program that the BLM has been working on now includes, as the grand prize, an Ibis Mojo HD bike w/ an SLX build kit, donated by Ibis Cycles and Fat Tire Farm.

Awesome! What a great incentive to get out and help with the trails and we all know this section needs a bit of love to make the trail even more of a ripper from top to bottom.

An HD give-away, right on FTF/IBIS! I'll take the white one though.

Freeride digging at Stub Stewart, too, this Saturday

Westside Trail Federation freeride build day at Stub
Westside Trail Federation said:
Phase 1 of the construction plan for the Stub Stewart Freeride Area includes construction of both Beginner and Intermediate-level Freeride trails, including the development of a beginner “session” area with access trail to reach top of the hill where Freeride trails are located. Phase 2 of the development plan includes the development of advanced-level trail options as well as a secondary “session” area. The project area has over 200 vertical feet and has the ability to support many trails utilizing the unique landscape.

Do the Stub build days make you eligible for the Ibis drawing as well?
Good question: The Volunteer incentive program/raffle that includes the Ibis is specific to Sandy Ridge. We're working on expanding volunteer incentive programs to all volunteer trail work, but this program was setup mainly by the BLM, for Sandy Ridge only.
