Hey guys

Looking to ride out sydney west way and may also check out the blue mountains,
was wondering if anybody can recommend some good trails in sydney with some good technical tracks and some with some medium sized jumps we can practice on,

Two best resources for Syd & environs trail info are Trailflix and NobMob.

I ride Manly Dam alot which is a great 10km singletrack loop with a few nice techy bits.

Red Hill is more technical again, with some pretty big drops (by my standards anyway).

Oxford Falls has a DH track which I'm too chicken to ride.

Yellowmundee out west and Appin down south are nice technical trails, not much jumping though. See bloodpuddle's link for info.

Try to get someone to guide you around Menai or Kentlyn. Two of the best technical tracks around Sydney. They are a bit different to the more XC style technical track of Appin.

There is one area I think is even better than those two but you really need a local to show you around and access is an issue at the moment.

McPhails Fire Trail aka the Cannonball Run.

NoBMoB will have all the info in the 'Sydney South' section. Do a search in 'Sydney South' for 'McPhails' and enlarge that to 'Myrla State Forest' or 'Myrla Pass' and 'Fitzroy Falls' or even 'Jacks Corner'.

I was just about to put this track on the Canberra for MTB thread, it is only a couple of hours drive from Canberra. Those Victorians on the Canberra thread ... just wouldn't appreciate this awesome track anyway.

A great, fun track. Especially if you do it a few times with a car shuffle. It's about 10km of generally downhill riding with one climb in the middle.

Yep its a nice one, just watch out for the tight corners, theres a rather large drop off the end.
