I've got some novatec flow trail rims that I am trying to set up tubeless with tubeless ready tires. They are supposed to be setup to run tubeless, but I can't get the tires to seat for the life of me, even with a compressor.

After closer inspection the rim strip is all out of alignment with the center of the rim and not sticky, and air gushes out everywhere too while trying to get the tire to seat.

What's the best way to deal with this? Should I just buy rim tape or something? Is the rim strip suppose to be sticky, because I'm able to move it all over the place?

Stopped by the LBS and swapped out the stock rim tape with some 23mm wide stuff that I just stretched over the rim like a rubber band. Tire seated up almost too easily .. i've got two friday afternoons worth of dumb giving me some feels.
