Just wanted to say that Northstar is doing a bang up job this year. We went up yesterday for our thrid trip this year. Each time we've gone, the place just keeps getting better and better.
As you may have heard they reworked the middle section of Stix-n-Stones. AWESOME!!!! The pictures of the wood boardwalks do not do it justice. That middle section just flows so good now. You carry a ton of speed and hit some really fun hits that just send you flying for some serious distance. Then you peal across the fireroad higher than before and drop straight into the rock garden sections before the final drop on the lower fireroad and into the last section of Six-n-Stones.
We did not get a chance to ride Livewire as we rode the Vista side for the better part of the day. Took a quick lunch stop, rode Stix again then headed to Zypher to ride Gypsy and Boondocks before hitting Livewire which by then was closed for watering.
Speaking of Gypsy....everyone in our group felt that the upper part of Gyspy was flowing a lot faster and that the trail had been groomed. They filled in the little tree/logs double into the downhill rocky section with more trees, which was kind of a bummer. Guess not enough people were able to clear that?? With the upper section running smooth and fast and all the reworks to the middle/lower section a month ago, boy it's hard to beat a fast rippen run down Gypsy!
Anyway, just wanted to give the N* trailcrew an ehandshake in gratitude. So if any of you trail guys are on here, THANKS! Your work is muuuuuch appreciated!
Now, just hoping the race doesn't kill all the new stuff on Stix this Sunday....:madman:
