From their website Trail Updates - Northside at Taos Ski Valley ;
"As of May 30, 2019. the land Northside leases to operate our recreation area has been sold to Taos Land and Cattle Company I, LLC. We do not know the intent of the new owner with regards to keeping the property open for managed public access in the future. However, Northside will remain open until September 30, 2019 when our lease is up.
Robert F. Corroon Jr., owner of Taos Land and Cattle Company, who has been visiting and skiing in the Village of Taos Ski Valley since the late1970's is a conservation oriented buyer with no immediate plans for the future of the property.
Thank you for your help and support for nearly 15 years!"
Hopefully this isn't a hit for Taos mountain biking - since IMBA and the Carson National Forest have done very little to work on building a connecting trail between the Village of Taos Ski Valley and Red River, as was stipulated during discussions to draft the Columbine-Hondo Wilderness Act, Northside is currently the only legally accessible cross-country riding in TSV, and some of the only high alpine singletrack in New Mexico.
The ski area @skitaos just started building their new downhill park that will be accessed via lifts 4 and 1 - they contracted Gravity Logic from Whistler to design and cut the trails, and hired some dedicated mtb locals to work on their own bike park crew. The Pioneer flow trails are open today, it's not much but worth checking out if you're up there!
