I have always toyed with the idea of living in LA. Finally a job opportunity opened up in Burbank to good to pass up.:D
Our temporary housing is on mid-Wilshire. Any good fire road or ST nearby, say, within 30 minutes to 2 hour drive away? On the final approach to Bob Hope airport last week I saw lots of mountains, and I swear they were calling me.

You will have some great riding in Burbank's backyard, Angeles National Forest. Mt. Wilson alone will keep you busy for awhile. Lots of fireroad climbs with tech singletrack descents.

Within your 2 hour range you have all of Santa Monica Mountains, Orange County (Cleveland National Forest), Palm Springs, and Big Bear (San Bernardino National Forest). You also got a couple of classic rides within about 2 hours, Mt. Pinos and Noble Canyon. And don't forget about the roads trips to St. George, Utah...Sedona, Arizona, they are only 5-6 hours away.

A couple of links to hook up with some rides. And welcome to So-Cal as an ex Nor-Caler... grew up in Petaluma then to Gualala.

Best bike shop in So-Cal The Path, in Tustin. Lots of cool singlespeed stuff.

Welcome to the Southside. While I'm a bit South of you, I live in the OC, I can still give you a warm welcome. I hope you enjoy your new riding and your new place.
