Leaving the elevated skinny goodness of Western Washington to visit the girl's family for a week for Christmas. Are there maps for trail systems readily available anywhere? Planning on taking the bike. All I really know of in the area is Annadel (sp?) Park. We'll be staying in Santa Rosa.

Also, are there any trails around wine country?

Sorry for being a tourist, but if anyone ever comes to Port Townsend, WA, I'll return the favor.

Yup!

... oh and the fact that santa rosa IS in wine country.
Decades ago, there were commercials for California wine that pushed Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties. Good wines and scenery in all 3; distincly different vibes. Napa is pretty commercialized and can get pretty crowded unless you get off the beaten path.

Bring warm clothes. It was cold on yesterday's ride and frigid this morning.

Plenty of great wineries very close in Kenwood and more in the Russian River valley and north to Healdsburg (plug for Davis Family Vineyards).

You'll be happy with Annadel, but if you can ride more than a few days, then venture to Boggs or do Oat Mine, esp. if it is a nice clear day. Both areas hold up better to rain.
