I already sent this question into PUSH support but have not heard back yet. I want to get other people's opinions as a comparison to their official answer so that I can make an informed judgment.

I sent in a DHX 5 Coil shock to get their factory tune service. Now my DHX makes a lot of noise on the rebound stroke. (best described as a "Whoosh" or deep "hissshhh") The compression stroke makes a little noise but nowhere near as much as on the rebound, especially after big hits. Anyone else out there have this experience after getting a shock PUSH'd?

At first I just assumed that this was a result of their re-valving procedure so I've really been trying to get used to it. The part that bugs me is that I used to run rebound damping about 6 clicks in from full slow and now I have to run 2 clicks in from full slow just to have any damping. My LBS said that a noisy shock probably has air in the oil chamber but I am not sure they understand that the shock is no longer stock.

Any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

The noise is completely normal and is caused by the valving at both our asymmetric rebound valve at the piston bolt as well as the high speed rebound circuit.

As for running it 2 clicks out from closed that does seem a little odd and maybe something you want to talk to Matt here at PUSH about. He heads up our DHX mods.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. Didn't expect to hear from the man.

Let me clarify. I sent in a new VAN RC for a plush valving. The noise I'm hearing happens on the rebound and it sounds like frothy oil being forced thru an opening.
I realize this is a normal sound associated with damping but it's really loud and sounds "coarse" ... hard to explain.

I don't run the shock with the rebound fully closed (slowest) I just noticed the WHOOSH goes away full closed.

I'll talk w/ Matt later.
thanks again.
